About the company

Adelaide Home Renovations was established in 1990 and is an owner-operated business founded by Geoffrey Jewell. The company specialises in structural chimney work, including repointing, repairs, restoration, and rebuilds, and has expertise in heritage chimneys, covering pre-1960s brickwork and lime mortar requirements. It sources period-correct bricks from suppliers such as The Old Red Brick Company and local salvage specialists, and custom-blends mortar on site to match existing brickwork.

It has restored hundreds of chimneys across Adelaide’s suburbs. General renovation services include wall removal and installation, alterations and extensions, bathroom and laundry renovations, plastering and texture coating, carpentry, brickwork repairs, and detailed property inspections. The company provides a fixed quote after site inspection and serves the Adelaide metro area. It does not provide chimney cleaning services.

What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

ADELAIDE HOME RENOVATIONS earns repeated praise for the craftsmanship and project management that Geoff and his team, including Dylan, Jaiden and Jaeden Jewell, bring to each engagement. Customers describe how the crew handled demanding structural work in heritage homes with expertise and flexibility, whether bricking up an internal archway, removing and sealing a chimney and fireplace, or reworking kitchen, bathroom and laundry spaces to blend original character with modern finishes. Reliability and punctuality feature often, with reviewers noting prompt arrivals, orderly sites and debris cleared after each day, which allowed some households to stay put while the work proceeded.

Communication before and during construction is highlighted repeatedly, as is the speed at which quotations and jobs were delivered. Smaller tasks also attract comment, including door replacements, new windows and glass sliding doors, plus electrical and exterior painting work completed to the same exacting standard. The team is described as thoughtful, approachable and respectful of family routines, assisting clients with on-the-spot decisions and resolving issues as they emerged. Reviewers frequently mention they would hire the company again, citing the finish quality and the effort made to limit disruption.

Amazing job done on my house, removed a inside wall, fitted some new windows and doors. These guys are so professional. I must say the way they kept the building site clean was amazing. I was still able to live in my home while they were doing the renovations. Which I really didn't think I would be able to do. So a big thanks to Geoff and his amazing team. Can't speak highly enough

Absolutely recommend Dylan, Geoff, Jaiden and team for their expertise, project management, communication and attention to detail. They helped us make some decisions on the fly, problem solved (170yo house!), were really considerate of our family of 6 having the house upside down ish, and were actually all just super nice people. We are doing a lot of the final touches ourselves and they helped us get to the point we can manage. Totally restored our faith in the building industry/tradies to be honest! We have a bunch more projects we will be engaging them for, 100%. Thanks guys.

Geoff and his son Dylan were very reliable, excellent communication pre and during the work and their workmanship was excellent. They bricked up an internal archway, removed and bricked up an old fire place and sealed the chimney. They also plasterered and prepped the walls for painting and cleaned up mess and rubbish after each day. Highly recommend Adelaide Home Renovations.
