I hired Chris at CK Contracting for a full bathroom renovation in West Hobart, and I could not be happier with the result. Cannot fault the team from CKC, they did a fantastic job renovating my tired old bathroom. The job started on time, finished on time, every trade/worker turned up when they said they would and were friendly and lovely to deal with. Renovating your house is no small endeavour and you want someone you can trust, but how can you really know?! Well, I can tell you. We're new to renovating, and had some loose ideas about what we wanted, but little idea about where to start, how much it would cost or how to make it a reality. We chose CK because of the diversity of their in house trades and the ability to make quick work of a BIG job. Chris quickly turned our ideas into a working plan and a fixed price quote. I felt confident we were being heard and we were on the same page. Chris was so available to help solidify a plan and in what felt like no time at all, we were on our way. Chris, Trent and the team have just wound up a 4 month renovation at our place which has transformed our home and lifestyle. Our lounge, kitchen, dining, master bedroom, walk in robe and ensuite were renovated with exemplary attention to detail I'm not going to lie, I felt apprehensive about a team of people I didn't know taking over the home we were still living in with our little people, but this soon melted away. The team bought good vibes and giggles for all of us. The team have been available, responsive and accommodating. I learned along the way that a problem (I'm talking a misplaced powerpoint, or a measurement that was off) was only as big as I made it. If something was not as we anticipated, the guys were only too happy to make it so. The quality and attention to detail delivered in the finished product is outstanding (satisfying even my neurocies 🫣). Every little bit has been finished to the highest standard, but the bathroom planning deserves a special mention. These guys know their stuff. We could not be more grateful. Chris, Michael and the CKC team were excellent to deal with. I was looking for a builder with great reviews, that could do the job in its entirety, and was willing to commit to a start date (as my property was tenanted and we only had a small window of opportunity). Although I was looking to lock in a builder nearly a year in advance, Chris was the only builder I reached out to that got back to me promptly and was willing to discuss the practicality of my design after just one email. While it took a few weeks to organise the quote and then to receive it (due to how busy they had been), the communication and follow up was always prompt and excellent. This was my first renovation, so I appreciate Chris & Michael’s patience and willingness to answer questions and explain things from initial contact, right through until project completion. I dealt with a few of their other workers too for various things that needed organising, and everyone I dealt with was very helpful. I am particularly happy with the attention to detail with the tiling – Ryan and Amrit did a wonderful job. I really didn’t want any daggy small tiles to have to be cut, and I wanted my different size tiles to still have the grout lines lining up. They planned the layout very well and were also very helpful when I had to choose my grout colours too, which I very much appreciated! Aside from a pesky original wall that evidently wasn’t totally square, the tiling is perfect! My family and I were extremely impressed with how clean they kept the property through the demolition stages especially. Their cleaner not only tidied the property after completion, but also put the furniture back into place that we had moved and covered prior to the start of the reno! While not everything was completed perfectly first time, and there were a few issues that needed addressing, I have still given a 5 star rating as I was happy with how quickly these issues were addressed and I feel they were fair in the way they were handled. I have an absolutely lovely powder room and bathroom now, and I am very grateful for the work of the team and making the project the least stressful for me that it could be. Thank you!
